FaceApp Now in trobble, Govt may Ban it soon for armed forces and paramilitary personnel

Recently FaceApp become a trending in social media & popular among netizens who started to trend the challenges using hastag's as #faceappchallenge #agechallenge in social media's like Facebook, Twitter & Instagram by posting their edited photos.


Many celebrities & Big Market brands also posted their images on social media's.
FaceApp was developed by a Russian Company as a Photo editing app, which was lunched in early 2017 for both IOS & Android users and now FaceApp has more than 1 million users all over the world.

Due to privacy issues, Government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) is planning on asking all security personnel to avoid using of FaceApp. The app is artificial intelligence-based imaging tool and required a user to upload a picture. The app access the user's image gallery, which is risky and may cause security risks for armed forces and paramilitary personnel.

"We are still trying to understand if such apps can cause any data leaks. Till we are sure, it is better that security personnel stay away from them. We are planning to send out a directive on this as soon as possible. We have had informal discussions on this already with some high-ranking officials in the armed forces,” said a senior official at the MHA.
